Fine Jewelry Quality Control Specialist

Job Description Frank Darling is a female-founded fine jewelry brand making custom engagement rings feel exciting, personal, and refreshingly human. Our modern, sustainability-minded designs have been featured in Vogue, WSJ, Bloomberg, Glossy, and more. We’re looking for an on-site Quality Assurance Specialist to join our growing team. This role is perfect for a meticulous, detail-obsessed diamond and jewelry professional who takes pride in craftsmanship, communicates clearly and thoughtfully, and thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on production environment. Key Duties and Responsibilities: • Check finished goods for quality defects using a loupe and microscope • Verify diamond inscription numbers and ensure stones match accompanying documentation • Confirm accuracy of designs against client specifications, CADs, and order details • Track and flag recurring quality defects for production • Collaborate closely with production leads to resolve issues efficiently • Maintain clear records and notes to support quality improvements and process optimization • Uphold Frank Darling’s quality standards across engagement rings, wedding bands, and fine jewelry pieces Requirements and Experience: • Excellent written communication skills • Knowledge of fine jewelry setting techniques • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills • Work both collaboratively and independently • Experience in fine jewelry design and/or making • Familiarity with fine jewelry terminology and design • Bench jewelry-making experience a plus Why You’ll Love This Role: • You’ll work hands-on with exceptional diamonds and custom jewelry every day • Your attention to detail directly impacts the quality of pieces clients will wear for a lifetime • You’ll collaborate closely with bench jewelers, gemologists, and production teams • You’ll help identify patterns and improve processes—not just catch mistakes • You’ll be part of a growing, design-driven brand that truly values craftsmanship and care Job Details: • Full-time on-site role located in New York City • Office hours are 9AM to 5PM • Schedule: M-F • Salary: 50K - 60K Benefits: • Equity Compensation.
