Within the Client Development and Digital Retail function, the E-Commerce team plays a critical role in driving sustainable business growth by executing comprehensive digital strategies, maximizing key commercial moments, and elevating the client experience in the digital environment. The E-Commerce Manager is responsible for leading the overall online business across Louis Vuitton Japan’s official website and LV App, while driving sales growth across the broader Digital Retail landscape, including both standalone e-commerce sales and sales generated through the Client Service Center (CSC). A key strategic objective of this role is to accelerate downloads and adoption of the LV App in order to deepen client engagement and enrich the client journey across both digital and physical retail touchpoints. This role also responsible for formulating and executing strategies for client acquisition, revenue growth, and continuous user experience enhancement. While not accountable for the full e-commerce P&L, the E-Commerce Manager holds full ownership of the department’s expense budget and is responsible for optimizing return on investment across acquisition channels, including SEO, SEM, and emerging discovery technologies such as AI-driven search and Large Language Models (LLMs). In addition, this position leads a team covering Sales Analysis and Planning, Traffic Acquisition, Expense Budget Management, Digital Merchandising, and Webmaster functions. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with local stakeholders and Paris headquarters to maximize product launches and define category-specific growth strategies. 1. Digital Retail Business Leadership & Strategy • Set and manage comprehensive Digital Retail sales targets across the official website, LV App, and CSC-generated sales. • Develop and execute end-to-end digital strategies to drive revenue growth, retain existing clients, and acquire new clients across all digital touchpoints. • Lead initiatives to increase downloads and active usage of the LV App, strengthening client engagement and creating synergies between digital and physical retail. • Monitor and manage key performance indicators such as traffic, conversion rate, and average order value (AOV), while providing accurate forecasts, revisions, and action plans to achieve targets. • Take full ownership of the department’s expense budget and maximize ROI across acquisition channels, including SEO and SEM. • Monitor the evolving digital discovery landscape and identify innovative acquisition opportunities through AI-driven search trends and Large Language Models (LLMs). 2. Commercial Moments & Category Strategy • Collaborate closely with local cross-functional teams and Paris HQ to maximize sales performance during product launches and key commercial moments, such as holiday campaigns and strategic activations. • Develop and implement digital growth strategies tailored to each product category, including Leather Goods, Ready-to-Wear, Shoes, Watches, and Fine Jewelry. • Ensure digital merchandising and campaign execution are fully aligned with the Maison’s global vision while reflecting local market needs and opportunities. 3. Team Management & Operational Oversight • Lead, mentor, and develop the e-commerce team to ensure strong performance, engagement, and capability building. • Oversee Sales Analysis and Planning to establish accurate sales plans and monitor business performance through robust data analysis. • Oversee expense budget management to ensure appropriate allocation, control, and tracking of departmental spending. • Oversee Digital Merchandising to create a compelling online boutique experience through optimized product presentation, site search, and product categorization. • Oversee e-commerce operations to ensure the smooth management of backend processes and fulfillment in Required Experience Minimum 5 years of e-commerce management experience, preferably within luxury, premium fashion, or related retail industries. Proven track record in developing and executing digital strategies to drive sales growth, client acquisition, and app adoption. Strong people management experience, including leading teams of 5 or more members and developing talent through direct management. Solid experience in KPI management, including forecasting and performance review, as well as expense budget management. Experience in digital merchandising strategy across multiple product categories. Required Skills and Competencies Business-level proficiency in both English and Japanese is required for daily communication with headquarters and local stakeholders. Deep understanding of SEO and SEM, combined with a forward-looking perspective on AI-driven discovery, including Large Language Models (LLMs), and strong analytical capability to maximize ROI. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and networking skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across local leadership, HQ, and cross-functional teams. Strong data-driven decision-making skills, with the agility to respond quickly in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
