JOB TITLE: FP&A Director
DEPARTMENT: Finance
LOCATION: Tokyo, Hirakawacho district
REPORTING LINE: FENDI Japan Zone President, dotted line to Fashion Group Japan CFO
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The FP&A Director will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the retail subsidiary of FENDI in Japan. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in finance, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the luxury retail industry. The FP&A Director will work closely with the executive team to drive financial performance, assist his/her peers in their mission, ensure compliance, support the overall business strategy and assess the financial performance of the company as well as possible risks and investments. As a key member of the LVMH Fashion Group community, he/she will engage in cross-Maison projects and drive efficiencies within the organization. He/She will be a key interlocutor for the Maison headquarters.
His/Her duties include analyzing departmental finances, creating a company budget and ensuring the financial health and stability of the company.
• Support the business and the operations
• Be the Guardian of the temple
• Protect the main assets: People, Brand/image, Cash, Stock and Stores.
• Master the 4 pillars: Tax, External audit, Internal control, Legal
• Optimize the company’s revenues, profit and cash
• Make the FP&A team grow (recruit, develop and retain)
• Prepare the future by leading the transformation of the FP&A function (simplification, efficiency…)
• Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's business objectives. Provide financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting to guide decision-making.
• Financial Reporting: Support and coordinate with Fashion Group accounting team in the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
• Budget Management: Lead the budgeting process, monitor financial performance, and provide insights to optimize resource allocation and cost management.
• Risk Management: Identify financial risks. Jointly with Fashion Group Internal Control, develop mitigation strategies customized to Maison needs. Ensure robust internal controls and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Audit: support Fashion Group finance team on the annual external audit as needed
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the FP&A team (1 manager and 1 analyst), fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Promote professional development and ensure high performance.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with key stakeholders, including senior management, external auditors, and regulatory authorities. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
• Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the financial stability and liquidity of the subsidiary. Optimize working capital.
• Tax Compliance: optimize tax planning strategies. Support Fashion Group Finance team on the preparation of tax returns as needed.
• Financial Systems: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and tools. Ensure data accuracy and integrity for effective financial management.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role ideally within the retail or luxury industry.
Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Analytical mind with a strategic ability. Energetic, highly motivated, with an enquiring mind and passion for excellence and innovation in pursuit of business growth and success. Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Language: Professional working proficiency in English and Japanese is required
Knowledge: In-depth understanding of international financial reporting standards (IFRS). Familiarity with Japanese financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards.
Leadership: Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams. Ability to influence and drive changes in a dynamic environment.
